V 4 tells us John saw thrones and the people who sat on those thrones had the authority to judge. next John seen the souls or people that had been beheaded (killed) for God, Jesus and for refusing to accept that mark. The mark will only be able to be resisted during the tribulation because only during the tribulation will that mark be made mandatory. These people who died during the tribulation will live and reign (rule) with Jesus for 1,000 years. Perhaps no you see why we need to understand this information God has given to us.

 4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

V 5 shows that the other people who die (outside of the tribulation) will not be brought back to life until at least 1,000 years after this time. The people who are killed in the tribulation will be some of the first people resurrected - brought back to life. When they are brought back to life it will be called THE first resurrection. We will all be brought back to life, the good and the bad, but these people will be first.

 5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

V 6 states that the people who die in the tribulation are blessed and holy and that the second death will have no power over them. Instead, these people who die in the tribulation will be priests of God and of Jesus Christ and reign (rule) with his for the 1,000 years. Do you know what the second death is? We've read about the first resurrection but will there be a second? Without knowing the God given information in Revelation it will be very difficult, especially with the great deception going on, to stand and die for the name of Jesus.

6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
