Revelation 7:9-17 |
|
In V 9, 10, 11 and 12 we have John in heaven and he sees so many people that they can not even be numbered. There are so many people in this group that they are called a Great Multitude. All kinds of people from all walks of life, different languages and nationalities are in this assembly. They are standing in heaven before the throne of God and before Jesus wearing white robes having palm tree branches in their hands. Together they are lifting their voices and honoring God AND Jesus. Even ALL the angels fall on theirs faces (bowing in worship) before God (the elders and the 4 beasts mentioned in the following verses are described in Revelation chapter 1). 9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. V 13, 14 and 15 shows one of the elders (an elder is a person of great age and wisdom) asking John who are these people, this great multitude of people. We discover that they are the people who have come out of (came through, endured, were killed in and stood for Jesus in) the tribulation. You see the people who die for the name of Jesus in the tribulation will stand before God. Death is not the end, but is only the beginning. It is this information that will allow us to stand for the God we serve and even die if need be before receiving that mark. We must increase our spiritual knowledge and The Rapture Confidential will help you do just that. 13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. V 15 and 16 show how life will be with God after we've made our stand during the tribulation. God will wipe all tears away and life will really be good. We will be like angels not needing food or being thirsty. God will be our sun. 16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
